I wanted to send a sample and quick note to you all about our livestream last night. A tour de force through the origins of property rights, starting from the Ancient Greeks, to the origins of the common law in England, and culminating in the moment we are in now.
The distinctive American claim is that the government is not the owner of your property. It is a guest with limited powers. You can say no. We have the strongest property-rights protections of anyone in history up until relatively recently— the progressive counterrevolution.
The Odyssey shows us that property has been with us since the beginning. Our battle against the planners is a civilizational one we’ve been evolving for centuries. Our current status quo is but a setback; the king has taken more than his due.
Our fight is in the tradition of the Levelers, Coke, Locke, Madison, and Odysseus. We have ancient customs to defend against the planning elite.
For those those came, thank you so much for your time and attention! For those who missed out, catch you next month!
